Paragraph 5.1 Ordering Data

ASTM A494/A494M REV A Standard Specification for Castings, Nickel and Nickel Alloy, dated 01 NOV 2018

5.1.1 Quantity, in pieces: 3

5.1.2 Grade designation (Table 1): M30C and class (Table 2): As Cast

5.2 The purchaser shall specify any of the following information required to describe adequately the desired material:

5.2.1 Heat-treat condition (see 6.1 and 6.2): As Cast

5.2.2 Repair welding (see Section 11): Approval of weld repairs classified as major in

ASTM A949/A494M paragraph 11.2 is required. All weld repairs shall be in accordance with S9074-AR-GIB-010/278 (Change A) using welders and welding procedures qualified in accordance with S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248.

5.2.3 Source inspection requirements, if any (see Specification A781/A781M): Source inspection requirements shall be as specified in the purchase order.

5.2.4 Marking-for-identification requirements, if any (see 13.1): Marking Requirements:

Marking shall be per Section 13, except drawing and piece number are not required, as the castings are not finished components.

5.2.5 Supplementary requirements desired, including the standards of acceptance:

PATTERN OR DRAWING NUMBER AND CONDITION:

NAVSEA Drawing 119-6950399 REV J Piece Number 1. Drawing and piece number provided for Shipyard use only. Dimensions provided below include excess material on castings.

Vendor shall rough machine castings to the following dimensions.

Outside diameter: 21.031 INCHES +0.063 / -0 INCHES Inside diameter: 18.828 INCHES +0 / -0.063 INCHES Length: 69.125 INCHES +0.250 / -0 INCHES Roundness: The roundness of the inside diameter of the sleeve shall be within 1/32

INCHES.

Concentricity: The inside diameter of the sleeve shall be concentric to the outside diameter within 1/32 INCHES.

Straightness: The straightness of the sleeve measured along the length of the inside shall be within 1/32 INCHES. NOTE: Centrifugal casting required.

Additional requirements: S2 Radiographic Examination: Radiographic inspection (RT) per T9074- AS-GIB-010/271(REV 1). Acceptance criteria for RT shall be per TABLE XIX OF S9074-AR-GIB- 010/278 (Change A), Criticality Level 1, for a casting thickness of 1 inch and less. Penetrameter selection shall be as follows: Vendor shall use 0.87 INCHES penetrameter maximum with 2-2T sensitivity for the entire length of the sleeve. Test Report and radiographic film shall be forwarded prior to hardware shipment. Government to verify format, content, and media. Hardware will not be shipped until the gevernment accepts the report and film.

S3 Liquid Penetrant Examination: Liquid Penetrant (PT) inspection shall be in accordance with T9074-AS-GIB-010/271 (REV 1); acceptance criteria for PT shall be per MIL-STD-2035A Class 1.

Inspection applies to all exterior surfaces.

S6 Certification: Certification of Compliance with chemical composition per Table 1 and mechanical properties per Table 3 is required.

S50 Weldability Test: Weldability test shall be per Section S50.
