The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support Medical awarded a $4,999,999 Indefinite Delivery Contract (IDC) to AmerisourceBergen Drug Corp, a major pharmaceutical distributor, to provide a comprehensive range of pharmaceutical products and medical supplies to support military healthcare programs globally. The IDC, which runs through November 2026, serves as the primary vehicle for delivering critical medical commodities including specialty medications, brand-name and generic drugs, vaccines, syringes, vials, and test kits across multiple therapeutic domains such as cardiovascular health, diabetes management, mental health, pain management, infectious disease prevention, and general medical care.
Under this IDC, the DLA has issued numerous firm fixed-price delivery orders to AmerisourceBergen, totaling over $10 million, for the provision of these pharmaceutical and medical supplies to military treatment facilities, veterans' healthcare programs, and other federal medical institutions. The contracts do not have set-aside designations, indicating open competition. AmerisourceBergen also holds a separate $750,000 IDC with the Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Investigation for similar medical products and prescription drugs, further demonstrating the company's role as a key vendor for federal healthcare programs.
