The Marine Corps has awarded Nippo Corporation, a Japan-based construction firm, an Indefinite Delivery Contract (IDC) with a $495 million ceiling value to provide design-build and design-bid-build construction services supporting Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Iwakuni in Japan. This IDC is a follow-on to the previous Multiple Award Construction Contract (MACC) awarded in the region.

Under the contract, Nippo will receive task orders for a variety of construction projects at MCAS Iwakuni, including repairs, renovations, demolition, and facilities support work. An initial $18.9 million firm fixed price task order was issued for repairs to a Bachelor Enlisted Quarters building. The work will be performed over a period of 21 months, from June 2023 through March 2025. The contract has no set-aside requirements and will be primarily funded by the U.S. Marine Corps to meet ongoing construction needs at the air station.
