The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) has awarded a $4 billion, 10-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) to provide research, development, test and evaluation, procurement, maintenance, support, systems engineering, and sustainment services in support of the Department of Defense's Combating Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) priorities. The contract has a 5-year base period with a 5-year option.

Under this IDIQ, ARA will deliver a range of technical services and solutions to reduce incentives to pursue, possess, and employ WMD; increase barriers to the acquisition, proliferation, and use of WMD; manage WMD risks from hostile, fragile, or failed states; and deny the effects of current and emerging WMD threats. ARA's work may be conducted at various locations as needed to support the DoD's CWMD objectives. As the prime contractor, ARA has the ability to receive task orders under this multiple-award IDIQ contract vehicle, which was not set aside for any socioeconomic categories.
