This $537,058 federal Project Grant award from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Continuum of Care (CoC) Program (CFDA 14.267) will support the Lgbt Life Center's efforts to provide housing and supportive services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the Norfolk, Virginia area. Key activities to be funded include permanent supportive housing, rapid re-housing, transitional housing, supportive services, and homeless management information systems (HMIS).
As a sub-awardee, the Lgbt Life Center will partner with local government agencies and nonprofit providers to deliver a range of assistance, such as housing stabilization, mental health counseling, medical case management, HIV prevention and treatment, and other services to address homelessness and support vulnerable populations. The grant aims to decrease the number of individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the region by quickly housing them and minimizing trauma, while promoting self-sufficiency and access to mainstream resources.
