The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) received a $102,294 project grant award on May 26, 2023 from the Department of Transportation Federal Transit Administration's Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities program (CFDA 20.513). The award will fund operating assistance through September 1, 2026 for nine rural transit providers and one small urban transit provider in Utah to continue providing transit services for seniors and individuals with disabilities. As the prime recipient, UDOT will oversee $102k in grant funds and ensure subrecipients deliver critical transit services in rural and small urban areas of the state. One subrecipient, the Cache Employment & Training Center, will use their portion of the award to support operating assistance for rural transportation providers serving target populations. The Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities program aims to meet the transportation needs of seniors and individuals with disabilities in areas where public transit options are limited. This award will allow UDOT and subrecipients to sustain mobility services through September 2026 for underserved communities in Utah.
