Arizona State University was awarded a $313,082 Project Grant from the Department of State Bureau of Intelligence and Research under the Program for Study of Eastern Europe and the Independent States of the Former Soviet Union (CFDA 19.300) federal grant program. The grant will fund efforts from September 2021 through September 2022 to develop U.S. expertise in the countries and languages of Eastern Europe and Eurasia. Specifically, the university will work to increase American proficiency in the critical languages spoken in that region and deepen understanding of the independent states that were formerly part of the Soviet Union, in alignment with the goals of the CFDA 19.300 program.
