The Department of State Bureau of Democracy Human Rights and Labor awarded a $1,400,000 Project Grant to Human Rights Activists to document security force activities in Iran from September 23, 2022 through March 31, 2025. The grant is being administered under the International Programs to Support Democracy, Human Rights and Labor program (CFDA 19.345), which funds targeted programs that address human rights abuses and open political space in struggling democracies and authoritarian regimes. Under this award, the grantee will document for public dissemination the actions of security forces in Iran to shed light on human rights conditions. The total funding amount of $1,400,000 will support this effort over the two-year period of performance ending March 2025.
