This Project Grant award from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) under the Research Infrastructure Programs (CFDA 93.351) provides $425,000 to The Johns Hopkins University to acquire a 500 MHz NMR spectrometer to support small-molecule chemistry research at the Johns Hopkins Medical School. The new state-of-the-art NMR system, including a 11.7T magnet, digital spectrometer console, autosampler, and workstation, will serve a diverse user base of NIH-funded researchers across multiple clinical and basic science departments. This instrumentation upgrade will enhance the characterization of small molecules, enabling advanced structural elucidation for biomedical chemistry projects focused on new imaging agents, drug discovery, and cellular metabolomics. The NMR core facility, managed by the Department of Pharmacology and Molecular Sciences, has provided essential support for 23 years to a range of health-related research goals at the medical school.
