This federal Project Grant award from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, under the Child Health and Human Development Extramural Research program (CFDA 93.865), provides $1,032,031 to Healing Innovations, Inc. to develop a novel, cost-effective in-home gait training device for the neurological patient population.
The funding will support the finalization of the device and software design through iterative development, followed by a pilot clinical trial to demonstrate the safety and efficacy of the "Rise & Walk InHome" (RWH) system during home use. The RWH device offers body weight support and assisted gait training to guide the patient's arms and legs, aiming to bring the benefits of clinical gait training to the home setting and improve outcomes for stroke, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury patients. The award period runs from September 17, 2024 through August 31, 2026.
