The Regents of the University of California, San Francisco received a $737,480 Project Grant from the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) under the federal Research and Training in Complementary and Integrative Health (CFDA 93.213) program. This 3-year grant will fund a feasibility and acceptability study of an integrated cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) and passive body heating (PBH) intervention for insomnia disorder. The first study will refine the intervention protocols and procedures, while the second study will pilot test the integrated CBT-I and PBH treatment approach compared to digital CBT-I alone. This mind-body treatment option aims to provide a scalable, cost-effective, remotely-delivered, non-drug insomnia therapy that could benefit millions of individuals struggling with this common mental health condition.
