The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, in collaboration with the University of California, San Diego, received a $428,270 Project Grant award from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (CFDA 93.865 - Child Health and Human Development Extramural Research) to implement the "Restoring Equity to Measuring and Preventing Perinatal Intimate Partner Violence (REMAP-IPV)" training program. The 18-month program aims to train early-stage investigators on the ethical measurement and research of perinatal intimate partner violence, a critical but underexamined issue contributing to maternal morbidity and mortality disparities. The award will support the development of a curriculum, mentorship activities, and a peer-reviewed publication or research proposal for each trainee. The University of California, San Diego will collaborate on curriculum development, recruitment, mentorship, and data analysis for the program.
