UNDER THIS AGREEMENT, THE RECIPIENT SHALL LINE 28,800 FEET OF THE CURRENTLY EARTHEN ISLAND DITCH, A PORTION OF THE EAST SIDE CANAL AND THE MUNSEY DITCH WITH A 60 MM THICK FLEXIBLE MEMBRANE LINING. THE PROJECT IS LOCATED IN SOUTHEASTERN IDAHO, MOSTLY NORTH OF THE TOWN OF ARCO. THE PROJECT INCLUDES CANAL SECTIONS IDENTIFIED IN RED ON THE MAP BELOW THE ISLAND DITCH, A PORTION OF THE EAST SIDE CANAL, AND APPROXIMATELY ONE MILE OF THE MUNSEY CANAL FROM THE ARCO DIVERSION. THE LINING OF A ONE MILE REACH OF THE EAST SIDE CANAL WILL BE FUNDED BY THE NATURAL RESOURCES CONSERVATION SERVICE, SHOWN IN ORANGE ON THE MAP BELOW. AFTER REVIEW OF THE METHODOLOGY USED TO ESTIMATE WATER CONSERVATION SAVINGS, CONSIDERATION OF SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION PROVIDED BY RECIPIENT, AND ADJUSTMENTS MADE DURING THE EVALUATION OF THE PROJECT, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THESE IMPROVEMENTS ARE EXPECTED TO RESULT IN ANNUAL WATER SAVINGS OF 1,162 ACRE-FEET.
