The National Cancer Institute (NCI) awarded a $599,339 Project Grant under the Cancer Cause and Prevention Research (CFDA 93.393) program to the University of Miami to conduct a multi-site randomized trial evaluating the efficacy of a multidisciplinary telehealth intervention called HORIZONS for improving quality of life, psychological distress, symptom burden, coping, and self-efficacy in hematopoietic stem cell transplant survivors living with chronic graft-versus-host disease. The trial will enroll 350 patients and also identify critical implementation factors for the HORIZONS program. This research project aims to establish the foundation for a future national implementation and dissemination of the HORIZONS intervention to transform survivorship care for this patient population.
