The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UT Southwestern) received a $667,013 Project Grant award from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (CFDA 93.855 Allergy and Infectious Diseases Research program) to develop and validate deep learning models that can accurately identify antibody-antigen interactions and binding epitopes from massive sequencing data. The project aims to leverage recent advancements in high-throughput sequencing, protein structure prediction, and single-cell transcriptomics to enhance the prediction of antibody-antigen interactions, with a focus on identifying PD-L1-based PD-1 agonistic antibodies for autoimmune disease treatment. The 5-year award period runs from March 1, 2025 to February 28, 2030 and supports a multidisciplinary research team with expertise in bioinformatics, computer science, and immunology.
