The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) awarded a $343,529 project grant (CFDA 45.149 - Promotion of the Humanities Division of Preservation and Access) to Georgetown University to integrate historical data on political and legal institutions in Latin America into the SIGLA multilingual database. The project will: (1) collect historical information from 1980 to present on 20 political and legal institutions in Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico; and (2) develop technical solutions to rescue, curate, and disseminate the data through the SIGLA website. This effort will provide humanities scholars a comprehensive resource to study how Latin American cultures and societies have influenced, and been influenced by, these political and legal institutions over time.
