The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Inc., doing business as the Gardner Museum, received a $1,000 Project Grant award from the National Endowment for the Humanities on May 1, 2016 to provide global access to the museum's collection. Funded under the Promotion of the Humanities Division of Preservation and Access program (CFDA 45.149), the award supported ensuring long-term and wide availability of the Gardner Museum's primary humanities resources by funding projects to preserve and provide intellectual access to its collections through April 30, 2019. The Preservation and Access program aims to preserve humanities materials and resources and promote access to them. This award assisted the Gardner Museum in achieving the program's goals by making its treasured collections more accessible to audiences worldwide.
