This federal Project Grant award of $799,074 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the Continuum of Care (CoC) Program (CFDA 14.267) is intended to provide a range of housing and supportive services to address homelessness in Caguas, Puerto Rico.
The award will fund efforts by the non-profit organization Guara Bi Inc. to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families, minimize the trauma and dislocation caused by homelessness, and promote access to and utilization of mainstream programs. Eligible activities under this grant include permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, homeless management information systems (HMIS), and homelessness prevention. The goal is to decrease the number of individuals and families experiencing homelessness by reducing the length of time homeless, preventing returns to homelessness, and facilitating exits to permanent housing. The award period is from March 11, 2025 through December 31, 2025.
