THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION WILL SUBGRANT THE LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND (LWCF) GRANT TO THE CITY OF PARLIER TO DEVELOP THE NEW IN PARLIER SPORTS PARK. THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE COMMUNITY PARK IS LOCATED WITHIN A DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITY OF PARLIER AND WILL INCLUDE A SOFTBALL FIELD, STADIUM LIGHTING, COMMUNITY GARDEN, PLAYGROUND, PUMP TRACK, WALKING AND BICYCLING PATH, MULTI-PURPOSE LAWN AREA, RESTROOM, PERIMETER FENCING, PARKING LOT, SHADE STRUCTURE AND PICNIC AREA. THE RESIDENTS PRIMARILY WITHIN THE HALF-MILE RADIUS WILL BENEFIT FROM THE PARK BY PROVIDING THE OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUTDOOR RECREATIONAL BENEFITS THAT WILL INCLUDE WALKING, BICYCLING, A PLAYGROUND FOR THE YOUTH, PICNICKING AND BALLFIELDS FOR ALL AGES.
