The U.S. Department of the Interior National Park Service awarded a $1,190,276 Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) Outdoor Recreation Acquisition, Development and Planning grant (CFDA 15.916) to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MODNR). MODNR will subgrant these funds to the City of Moberly to develop Kiwanis Park. The project will prepare the site, install a rain garden, provide utility connections, replace trees, construct a pavilion, restrooms, accessible playground, driveway, and parking lot. Additionally, lighting and accessible sidewalks will be added. The completed pavilion, restrooms, playground, park grounds, and site amenities will provide new recreational opportunities at Kiwanis Park in Moberly, Missouri, benefitting the community and visitors of all ages and abilities. The grant period of performance runs from Sep 14, 2023 to Sep 30, 2026.
