THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES WILL SUBGRANT A LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND (LWCF) GRANT TO THE CITY OF CENTERVILLE TO RENOVATE THE BANDSHELL AND RESTROOM CONCESSIONS BUILDING AT STUBBS PARK. SITE IMPROVEMENTS INCLUDE THE CONSTRUCTION OF 8,000 FEET OF ASPHALT TRAILS AND TERRACE SEATING IN THE AMPHITHEATER BOWL. THE PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS WILL ENSURE THAT EXISTING FACILITIES ARE MAINTAINED AND IMPROVED SO CURRENT PARK PROGRAMMING CAN BE CONTINUED AND EXPANDED. STUBBS PARK IS A RECREATIONAL HUB FOR THE CENTERVILLE COMMUNITY HOWEVER, THE ANTIQUATED PARK INFRASTRUCTURE DOES NOT MEET EXISTING NEEDS, SPECIFICALLY THOSE OF AN AGING POPULATION. THE OUTCOME OF THIS PROJECT WILL IMPROVE PROGRAMMING OPPORTUNITIES AT THE PARK AMPHITHEATER PROVIDE A MORE INCLUSIVE GATHERING SPACE WITH ACCESSIBLE RESTROOMS CONCESSIONS AND SUPPORT PASSIVE RECREATIONAL ENGAGEMENT THROUGH PAVED TRAILS AND PARK FURNISHINGS, BENEFITING THE COMMUNITY AND VISITORS OF ALL AGES AND ABILITIES.
