The Michigan Department of Natural Resources will use a $1.03 million subgrant from the National Park Service under the Outdoor Recreation Acquisition, Development and Planning program (CFDA 15.916) to develop Pere Marquette Conservation Park in Ludington, Michigan. The subgrant to Pere Marquette Township will fund construction of an entry road, parking lot, accessible pathway, boardwalk, boating launch, restroom, fish cleaning station, information kiosk, and landscaping. Additionally, the funding will provide for picnic tables, trash and recycling bins, benches, signage, and a shade shelter. Completion of this project by September 2025 will enhance public access and recreational opportunities at the park for all ages and abilities, while protecting the shoreline in perpetuity.
