The Department of the Interior National Park Service awarded a $1,032,800 Project Grant to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources under the Outdoor Recreation Acquisition, Development and Planning federal grant program (CFDA 15.916). The Michigan DNR will subgrant these funds to Shelby Township to develop the Shelby Township Community Park. The grant will support construction of an access road, parking lot, pathway with exercise stations, playground, soccer field, and maintenance shed.
