The National Park Service awarded a $995,000 Project Grant to the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs under the Outdoor Recreation Acquisition, Development and Planning federal grant program (CFDA 15.916). The Executive Office will subgrant funds to the Massachusetts Department of Fish and Game to acquire 186 acres of land in Ashburnham, MA with existing trails, including the South Peak of Mount Watactic directly abutting a 281.5-acre reservation protected previously under the program.
