STERLING; AND ROWAN: LAKEVIEW HEIGHTS, MOREHEAD. POPULATION TO BE SERVED: - NORTHEASTERN KENTUCKY IS CHARACTERIZED BY COMPARATIVELY HIGH RATES OF OVERDOSE DEATHS AND SUICIDES. SEVEN OF OUR NETWORK'S EIGHT PROPOSED MEMBERS (87.5%) ARE LOCATED IN A HRSA-DESIGNATED RURAL AREA. - THE NORTHEAST KENTUCKY SUBSTANCE USE RESPONSE COALITION HAS BEEN IN EXISTENCE SINCE 2018. THE COALITION'S MEMBERS ARE ENTIRELY COMMITTED TO ADDRESSING THE NEW FOCUS AREA OF SUICIDE PREVENTION. - EXPERIENCE IN SERVING RURAL UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS: IN ORDER TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE REGION, ST. CLAIRE PROVIDED NEARLY $5.6 MILLION IN CHARITY AND UNCOMPENSATED CARE DURING FISCAL YEAR 2021. IN ADDITION, ST. CLAIRE HAS SERVED AS A MEMBER OF AND FISCAL AGENT FOR THE NORTHEAST KENTUCKY SUBSTANCE USE RESPONSE COALITION SINCE 2018, ADMINISTERING NUMEROUS FEDERAL GRANT PROJECTS FOCUSED ON VARIOUS ASPECTS OF THE REGION'S SUBSTANCE USE CRISIS. - THE PROPOSED APPROACH WILL ULTIMATELY INCREASE ACCESS TO HEALTH CARE SERVICES ACROSS THE CONTINUUM OF CARE RELATED TO SUICIDE IN A VARIETY OF WAYS. IN THE PRIMARY CARE SETTING, WE WILL ADDRESS GAPS IN CARE AROUND SUICIDE PREVENTION, SCREENING, AND TREATMENT THROUGH FOCUSED EDUCATION TARGETED TOWARD PRIMARY CARE PROVIDERS. IN THE HOSPITAL SETTING, IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ZERO SUICIDE PROGRAM WOULD DEVELOP THE LEADERSHIP, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, STRUCTURES, AND PROTOCOLS NECESSARY TO REDUCE PATIENTS' SUICIDE RISK. SCHOOLS' INTRODUCTION OF THE SOURCES OF STRENGTH PROGRAM COULD, FIRST AND FOREMOST, PREVENT POTENTIAL SUICIDES. HEALTH CARE, SCHOOL, AND RECOVERY OFFICIALS WILL NECESSARILY BE INVOLVED IN THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT OF OUR NETWORK'S PROPOSED INTERVENTIONS, SINCE THOSE ARE THE ENTITIES IN WHICH THE INTERVENTIONS WOULD BE DELIVERED.
