ADAMS COUNTY IS 1,925 SQUARE MILES OF PRIMARILY AGRICULTURAL FARMLAND WITH A POPULATION JUST OVER 24,000. DEMOGRAPHICALLY AND ECONOMICALLY, THE ZIP CODES COMPRISING THE TWO LARGEST COMMUNITIES AND THEIR RESPECTIVE REGIONS OF THE COUNTY ARE QUITE DIFFERENT. ABOUT 25% OF RESIDENTS OF RITZVILLE/EAST ADAMS COUNTY ARE AGE 65+ AND MORE THAN 83% ARE CAUCASIAN. IN CONTRAST, OTHELLO IN WEST ADAMS COUNTY IS ONE OF THE YOUNGEST ZIP CODES IN THE STATE OF WASHINGTON AND 74% OF THE WEST ADAMS COUNTY POPULATION IS HISPANIC. ALL OF THE NETWORK MEMBERS ARE PHYSICALLY LOCATED IN A HRSA-DESIGNATED RURAL AREA, ACTIVELY SERVE THEIR RURAL COMMUNITIES, AND ARE READY TO FORMALIZE NETWORK COLLABORATION INCLUDING IDENTIFYING RESOURCE-SHARING OPPORTUNITIES. THE NETWORK MEMBERS INCLUDE: ADAMS COUNTY PUBLIC HOSPITAL DISTRICT #2, EAST ADAMS RURAL HEALTHCARE (EARH), IS A CRITICAL ACCESS HOSPITAL THAT SERVES EASTERN ADAM S COUNTY. EARH ALSO PROVIDES A HOST OF ESSENTIAL MEDICAL SERVICES AND TWO RURAL HEALTH CLINICS. ADAMS COUNTY PUBLIC HOSPITAL DISTRICT #3, OTHELLO COMMUNITY HOSPITAL (OTHELLO) IS A CRITICAL ACCESS HOSPITAL SERVING WESTERN ADAMS COUNTY. ADAMS COUNTY INTEGRATED HEALTH CARE SERVICES PROVIDES A WEALTH OF IMPORTANT PROGRAMS AND SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY, INCLUDING BEHAVIORAL HEALTH, EMERGENCY HOUSING, FOOD AND NUTRITION INFORMATION TO WOMEN AND CHILDREN WHO QUALIFY THROUGH WIC, AND IMMUNIZATIONS. RURAL RESOURCES COMMUNITY ACTION (RURAL RESOURCES) IS A NONPROFIT CORPORATION WHOSE GOAL IS TO MEET THE BASIC, SOCIAL, AND ECONOMIC NEEDS OF RURAL COMMUNITIES.
