The Indian Nations Council of Governments (INCOG) was awarded a $938,023 Project Grant from the Department of Transportation's Federal Transit Administration under the Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities program (CFDA 20.513). The grant will fund operating assistance, capital investments, and administration from March 2023 to September 2025 to provide transportation services for seniors and individuals with disabilities in the Tulsa, Oklahoma urbanized area. Specifically, grant funds will support eligible operating expenses such as driver salaries, fuel, and purchased transportation services. Capital funding will be used to purchase vans to replace older vehicles that have exceeded their useful life. INCOG will use a portion of the award to manage the Section 5310 program. Six sub-awardees, including United Community Action and MTTA, will receive funding to maintain or expand their transit services for seniors and individuals with disabilities. The services are intended to help these populations access basic needs destinations and will be supplemented with funding to increase efficiency, safety, accessibility, and mobility.
