The Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council (OKI) was awarded a $3.13 million project grant from the Department of Transportation's Federal Transit Administration under the Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities program (CFDA 20.513). OKI will use the grant funds for six activities being sub-awarded to 12 agencies to provide transportation services for seniors and individuals with disabilities in Ohio. Projects include vehicle purchases, equipment, software, preventative maintenance, mobility management, and operating costs. OKI will allocate 10% of each year's funding amount for program administration. The grant combines funding from fiscal years 2019 through 2021, with $1 million from FY2019, $1.47 million from FY2020, and $655,248 from FY2021. All funds are 100% federally financed. OKI will ensure projects are included in its coordinated public transit-human services transportation plan and meet the program's 55% requirement for traditional transit services.
