The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has awarded a $150,000 Project Grant under the Legal Services for Veterans Grants program (CFDA 64.056) to the Minnesota Assistance Council For Veterans (MACV), a non-profit organization. This grant funding will assist MACV with the costs of providing legal services to eligible veterans experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in Minnesota. The legal services provided under this award include legal representation, advice, education, advocacy, and assistance across various civil and criminal matters related to housing, family law, income support, criminal defense, and other issues impacting veterans' fundamental rights and access to critical services. MACV has previously received other federal grant awards from the VA, Department of Labor, and Department of Housing and Urban Development to provide a range of housing, employment, and supportive services for homeless and low-income veterans in Minnesota.
