The National Museum of Mexican Art will partner with four organizations that make up the Mexican Cultural Arts Alliance to deliver leadership development and arts programming to strengthen cultural identity in Mexican communities across four Midwestern cities. Funded by a $413,269 project grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the Museums for America program, the National Museum of Mexican Art and its partners will grow the capacity of local arts organizations in Indianapolis, IN; St. Paul-Minneapolis, MN; Denver, CO; and West Chicago, IL. Activities will include biweekly training, professional development, mentorship, a traveling exhibition of local artists' works with supporting cultural programming such as art workshops, artist talks, panels, and performing arts events. A mini-conference will allow organizations to share lessons learned, network, and develop additional collaborations. The Museums for America program aims to strengthen individual museums' ability to serve the public by supporting priority activities that advance their missions and strategic goals.
