This Project Grant award of $600,000.00 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) under the Mental and Behavioral Health Education and Training Grants (CFDA 93.732) program will support the University of Hawaii at Manoa in developing and expanding the behavioral health workforce serving populations across the lifespan. The funding will enable the university to implement educational and training initiatives for professionals and paraprofessionals in disciplines such as nursing, counseling, social work, psychology, and addiction medicine. The goal is to increase access to mental health services, particularly in rural and medically underserved areas, through integrated, interprofessional team-based approaches that address substance use disorders, opioid use disorders, and mental health conditions. The award period runs from July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2029.
