FINAL INSTALLATION PROJECTED FOR 08/01/2027.SHREVEPORT WAS SELECTED FOR THE FY 2021 5339 COMPETITIVE GRANT AWARD UNDER THE FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION FY 2021 BUS AND BUS FACILITIES PROGRAM THE CITY IS SEEKING FUNDING TO PURCHASE AND INSTALL BUS SHELTERS IN THE SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER METROPOLITAN AREA. THROUGHOUT OUR COMMUNITY WE HAVE ACTIVE BUS STOPS BUT LESS THAN 10% OF STOPS CURRENTLY HAVE BUS SHELTERS. THE NOFO AND SF-424 APPLICATION HAS BEEN UPLOADED TO FAIN 1994-2023-5 DOCUMENTS. DESPITE REGULAR MAINTENANCE ON THESE OLDER SHELTERS THEIR OUTDATED AESTHETIC REFLECTS NEGATIVELY ON OUR COMMUNITY AND TRANSIT SYSTEM. THE TOTAL COST OF OUR PROPOSED PROJECT IS $2435000 AND WE ARE REQUESTING $1948000 FROM FTA. THE CITY OF SHREVEPORT IS COMMITTED TO PROVIDING $487000 LOCAL MATCH OUT OF THE CITYS GENERAL FUND. SPORTRAN-SHREVEPORT TRANSIT MANAGEMENT DOES NOT ANTICIPATE THE PURCHASE OF ITEMS OVER $5000 IN VALUE AT THIS TIME.
