The Department of Transportation Federal Transit Administration awarded a $312,305 Project Grant to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet under the Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities program (CFDA 20.513). The grant funding will support operating assistance for rural transportation services in Kentucky from February 2021 through March 2022.
The Enhanced Mobility program provides financial assistance to meet the transportation needs of seniors and individuals with disabilities in areas where public transportation options are limited, insufficient, or inappropriate. As the designated state agency, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will use the grant funds to support operating costs for rural transportation services that supplement existing transit and help fulfill the program's goal of improving mobility for target populations.
