The Inter-American Foundation (IAF) awarded a $260,000 Project Grant under the IAF Assistance for Overseas Programs (CFDA 85.750) to support the Asociacion Coordinadora Hondurena De Pequenos Productores, a non-profit organization in Honduras. The grant will help Honduran coffee producers comply with new European Union regulations to eliminate deforestation. Specifically, the grantee will map production areas, update internal control systems, and train staff in data collection and monitoring to meet the new sustainability standards. This will help the producers maintain market access and incomes while contributing to slowing deforestation, aligning with the IAF's strategic initiatives around sustainable agriculture, food security, and addressing root causes of irregular migration in Central America.
