FEDERATED STATES OF MICRONESIA STATE OPIOID RESPONSE (SOR) - WITH THE OPIOID USE DISORDER (OUD) BECOMING AN EMERGING HEALTH ISSUE IN THE FEDERATED STATES OF MICRONESIA, THE FSM DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND SOCIAL AFFAIRS (DHSA) PROPOSES FOR $500,000 OF THE STATE OPIOID RESPONSE FUNDING TO SUPPORT THE FOLLOWING: 1) FURTHER BUILD DHSA'S CAPACITY BY EXPANDING CURRENT INFRASTRUCTURE FOR DATA COLLECTION OF OPIOID USE, PREVENTION, TREATMENT AND RECOVERY SUPPORT SERVICES, 2) REDUCE THE ONSET AND/OR PROGRESSION OF OPIOID USE, AND ABUSE OF OTHER ILLICIT AND PATHWAY DRUGS, AND 3) REDUCE THE USE OF OPIOIDS AND OTHER DRUGS AMONGST THE YOUTH AND ADULT POPULATION IN EACH OF THE FOUR FSM STATES.
