The Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration awarded $750,000 to Interborough Developmental & Consultation Center (IDCC) on September 30, 2026, under the Center for Mental Health Services Projects of Regional and National Significance program (CFDA 93.532). B-SAFE (Brooklyn Safety, Antisemitism Response, and Engagement) will mobilize IDCC's Certified Community Behavioral Health Center (CCBHC) infrastructure to reduce behavioral health impacts of antisemitism in Brooklyn through coordinated response, treatment and recovery support, and public safety partnership. The initiative will serve children, adolescents, transition-age youth, adults, families, witnesses, neighbors, first responders, and other Brooklyn community members experiencing trauma, distress, impaired functioning, safety concerns, substance use risk, crisis risk, or help-seeking barriers associated with antisemitic crime, violence, threats, harassment, intimidation, disorder, or related instability. B-SAFE will establish a Brooklyn Behavioral Health and Community Safety Coalition, coordinate with schools, houses of worship, community institutions, victim-serving organizations, and public safety partners as coalition members and referral partners, and execute memoranda of understanding with approximately 100 participating organizations. Service participation will be based on exposure, risk, and need without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, or impermissible preference. Performance accountability will include quarterly reporting. Implementation occurs at IDCC's site located at 1670–78 East 17th Street, Brooklyn, New York 11229. The period of performance extends through September 29, 2031.
