The North Dakota Department of Human Services (NDDHS) received a $2,000,000 Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Planning Grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) on December 31, 2024. The purpose of this CCBHC Planning Grant is to support the state of North Dakota in developing and implementing a certification system for CCBHCs, establishing a prospective payment system for Medicaid reimbursable behavioral health services, and preparing an application to participate in a four-year CCBHC demonstration program. Through this grant, NDDHS will work to certify two existing public behavioral health clinics, the Southeast Human Service Center and the North Central Human Service Center, as CCBHCs in order to expand the capacity, access, and availability of comprehensive behavioral health services across the state, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
