The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) awarded Bridgeway Center Inc. a $480,398 Project Grant under the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Projects of Regional and National Significance (CFDA 93.243) program. The grant, entitled "THE TIEH PROJECT: CONNECTING UNDERSERVED INDIVIDUALS EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS TO SUSTAINABLE AND COMPREHENSIVE CARE," aims to create a comprehensive, coordinated, and evidence-based service delivery system to provide behavioral health treatment, recovery support, and housing assistance for individuals, youth, and families experiencing serious mental illness, serious emotional disturbance, or co-occurring disorders who are unhoused or at risk of homelessness in Okaloosa County, Florida. The project will serve 50 individuals per year, for a total of 250 individuals over the 5-year grant period, and focus on achieving four key goals: 1) enhancing stabilization for persons in permanent supportive housing, 2) advocating for increased capacity of emergency, rapid re-housing, and permanent supportive housing beds, 3) collaborating with homeless organizations to increase the number of homeless individuals moving to permanent housing, and 4) strengthening outreach to provide access to treatment services. The project employs evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Medicated-Assisted Treatment, and Motivational Interviewing, and collaborates with multiple local partners to deliver integrated services targeting the intended population.
