The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded a $1,158,652 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program grant to the Georgia Housing & Finance Authority on March 11, 2025. The CoC Program is designed to promote community-wide strategies to end homelessness by providing funding for nonprofit providers, states, and local governments to quickly house homeless individuals and families while minimizing trauma and promoting self-sufficiency.
Through this grant, the Georgia Housing & Finance Authority will use the funds to carry out eligible CoC Program activities, which may include permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, homeless management information systems (HMIS), and homelessness prevention. The specific subrecipient activities are unknown at the time of the award. The grant aims to decrease the number of individuals and families experiencing homelessness by improving performance indicators such as length of time homeless, returns to homelessness, and exits to permanent housing.
