North Carolina State University will utilize $774,456 in Project Grant funding from the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Research Laboratory to support operation of its LONG DURATION MACH 6 WIND TUNNEL FACILITY FOR HYPERSONIC RESEARCH from March 1, 2022 to February 28, 2024. The award is being made under the Air Force Defense Research Sciences Program (CFDA 12.800), which aims to maintain technological superiority in scientific areas relevant to Air Force needs and prevent technological surprise. Specifically, the university will leverage its wind tunnel facility to conduct hypersonic flight research over this two-year period to support the program's goals of maintaining a strong Air Force research infrastructure and technological advantage.
