The Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) received a $215,000 two-year Project Grant award from the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Research Laboratory to conduct basic research under the Air Force Defense Research Sciences Program (CFDA 12.800).
The grant will fund KIST's proposal titled "CHIROPTICAL ORGANIC SEMICONDUCTOR/CHIRAL MOLECULE HYBRID THIN-FILMS VIA CHIRALITY TRANSFER PHENOMENON" from August 2021 through August 2023. The research aims to maintain Air Force technological superiority by exploring chirality transfer phenomena to develop new hybrid thin-film materials with applications in organic semiconductor devices and sensors. The grant supports KIST's work to both prevent technological surprise against the U.S. and enable new capabilities for the Department of Defense.
