The North Mason Regional Fire Authority received a $177,258.15 project grant award from the Federal Emergency Management Agency under the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFG Program, CFDA 97.044) to enhance public and firefighter safety. The two-year award, issued on August 2, 2021 and set to be completed by August 1, 2023, will support the Authority's efforts to provide fire and fire-related hazard mitigation. Specifically, the AFG Program aims to improve safety for communities and emergency responders through such means as equipping firefighter vehicles with essential gear, funding training, and supporting wellness initiatives. Given the program's goal of enhancing protection from fire hazards, it can be reasonably inferred these funds will aid similar priority activities for the North Mason Regional Fire Authority.
