The South Dakota Department of Public Safety was awarded an $83,433.09 Project Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency under the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) program. The grant will support hazard mitigation activities from September 2022 through September 2025.
The BRIC program makes federal funds available to states and local communities for projects that reduce risks from disasters and natural hazards. This award will allow the South Dakota Department of Public Safety to deliver services that strengthen community resilience by reducing future damage and loss of life from disasters. The funding will be applied to hazard mitigation initiatives to protect critical infrastructure and communities across South Dakota through September 2025.
