The Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) in Ohio received a $462,877.60 Project Grant award from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the Community Assistance Program - State Support Services Element (CAP-SSSE, CFDA 97.023) on July 1, 2024. This grant will fund ODNR's efforts to provide technical assistance, evaluation, and training to communities participating in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) across the state. Key services to be delivered include floodplain mapping, engineering assessments, community outreach, regulatory guidance, and NFIP compliance support, all aimed at enhancing flood risk management capabilities and reducing flood losses in Ohio. ODNR often sub-grants funds to local municipalities, counties, and other state divisions to execute specific project activities collaboratively.
