The Federal Emergency Management Agency awarded a $210,335.72 Project Grant to the Vermont Department of Public Safety under the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) program (CFDA #97.047) on September 23, 2022 for completion by September 22, 2025. The BRIC program makes federal funds available to states and local communities for hazard mitigation activities to strengthen community resilience. Under this award, the Vermont Department of Public Safety will deliver hazard mitigation and resilience-building activities for Waterbury, Vermont. A sub-award of $TBD was provided to the Town of Brookfield for a scoping project to improve culvert infrastructure and reduce flood risk at Halfway Brook Culvert. The funding will support delivery of infrastructure resilience projects to mitigate natural hazard risks and strengthen community resilience in Vermont communities.
