The Federal Emergency Management Agency awarded a $192,232.96 Project Grant to the Vermont Department of Public Safety under the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) program (CFDA 97.047) on December 23, 2021 for completion by December 22, 2024. The BRIC program makes federal funds available to states and local communities for hazard mitigation activities to strengthen community resilience. Through two sub-awards to the Vermont Agency of Transportation totaling $192,232.96, this funding will support management costs and resilience-building projects to mitigate natural hazards in Waterbury, Vermont through December 2024. The sub-awards will allow the state transportation agency to deliver hazard mitigation services that strengthen community resilience in line with the goals of the BRIC program.
