This $840,000 project grant from the Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration supports the development and implementation of a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for Wetzel County, West Virginia by the Bel-O-Mar Regional Council. Through the EDA's Economic Development Support for Planning Organizations program (CFDA 11.302), the Council will create a regional economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the local economy over a three-year period from July 2022 to June 2025. The CEDS process brings together public and private stakeholders to guide economic development efforts through evidence-based planning. This award aligns with the program's goals of stimulating and guiding community or regional economic development through the creation of regional plans.
