The Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA) awarded $306,000 under the Economic Development Support for Planning Organizations (CFDA 11.302) federal grant program to the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska to develop and implement a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for portions of four counties in Nebraska and Iowa from October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2025. The CEDS process will bring together public and private sector stakeholders to create an economic roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy for the area served by the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska, comprising portions of Thurston, Burt, and Cuming counties in Nebraska and Monona County in Iowa. Funding will support the creation of a regional economic development plan to guide and stimulate economic growth efforts across the communities.
