The Economic Development Administration awarded $420,000 under the Economic Development Support for Planning Organizations program (CFDA 11.302) to the South Eastern Council of Governments to develop and implement a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for the region comprising Clay, Lincoln, McCook, Minnehaha, Turner, and Union counties in South Dakota. Through this project grant awarded on April 1, 2022 and concluding on March 31, 2025, the South Eastern Council of Governments will lead a collaborative, regional planning process to create an economic roadmap to diversify and strengthen the local economy. The CEDS process brings together public and private sector stakeholders to establish a strategic blueprint for regional development.
