This Project Grant award from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the Continuum of Care (CoC) Program (CFDA 14.267) provides $542,456 to the Community Partnership for the Prevention of Homelessness (The) to support efforts to quickly house homeless individuals and families in the Washington, D.C. area. The funding will be used to deliver a range of eligible activities under the CoC Program, including permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, homeless management information systems (HMIS), and homelessness prevention. As a non-profit community development corporation, the Community Partnership is expected to coordinate community-wide efforts by redistributing portions of the grant funding through sub-awards to other local homeless assistance providers. The goal of the project is to decrease the number of individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the region by reducing the length of time homeless, preventing returns to homelessness, and increasing exits to permanent housing.
